Born in the North East of England I’ve been a journalist since 2000.
I started on free newspapers in the North East, moved to Staffordshire to work on The Sentinel and then spent more than five years on the Newcastle Evening Chronicle covering everything from cheque presentations to high profile court cases.
Next, I moved to Abu Dhabi to work on the launch of the The National in 2008 – where things got really weird. I found myself picking up a laptop and jumping into the digital age as a night editor on a major news website – just as the Dubai bubble burst.
Now, I’m back in London working as a full-time sub for a national newspaper.
