Greenpeace Shard protester gets email thanking her for visit

One of six Greenpeace protesters arrested after scaling The Shard received an email thanking her for an earlier visit and asking her to come again.

Victoria Henry posed as a tourist and paid £24.95 to visit the 310m (1,015ft) London landmark earlier this month but was really on a reconnaissance mission for the protest.

The 32-year-old Canadian, who lives in London, and five other women were bailed on suspected aggravated trespass after climbing the 72-storey building to highlight environmental concerns in the Arctic.

According to the Sunday Mirror, bosses of the £435million building emailed her to say: ‘Thank you for your visit. We’d be grateful if you could complete our customer survey. We hope to see you again.’

Victoria tweeted the email to her 1,700 followers, saying: ‘Hahaha! I went to the view at the shard a week back for a little reccy. Today I got this email.’

The protest on Thursday closed the viewing platform on floors 68, 69 and 72 of Europe’s tallest building.

Before the 15-hour climb Ms Henry said: ‘It’s going to be nerve-shredding for all of us and we may not succeed but we’re going to do everything we can to pull it off.’

The other five women climbing the Shard were believed to be Ali Garrigan, 27, from Nottinghamshire; Wiola Smul, 23, from Poland; Sabine Huyghe, 33, from Belgium; Sandra Lamborn, 29, from Sweden; and Liesbeth Deddens, 31, from the Netherlands.
